The adventure so far: You are River, a Changeling Stray that got lost, beaten, and mugged as you were traveling in the North of Nuradan. You ended up in the outskirts of the remote village of Sund, and are in desperate need for shelter and supplies. You decided to wait for the night and try to steal something, when brigands attacked the village! You decided to lend a hand to the townsfolk…
It’s been a while since you’ve been in combat, but you remember the training grounds as if it was yesterday. You quickly tie up the leather bracers you just found. You also put on the empty backpack, you can always use some extra leather on your back. You grab the hatchet, and you are out of the cellar.
You orient yourself, you are outside a row of houses that sit elevated over the main village square in front of you.
You spot two intruders down there, getting ready to jump a family of villagers that is trying to run to safety. On the other side of the square, you can see three villagers: one has an axe, the other two are armed with long poles.
You hear arrows flying over your head and landing far to your left. You turn right: there are multiple archers - at least two - shooting from behind the trees just above the village.
You hear screaming from behind another row of houses, where some of the arrows are landing.
What do you do? Pick from one of the following options:
Jump down into the main square. The two brigands haven’t noticed you. You’ll be 1 versus 2, but you’ll have the element of surprise. You might also distract them from the family running away.
Scream to attract attention. Running down the road will protect you from the arrow fire, and you might confuse the attackers and direct them towards your location.
Circle the houses to sneak to the treeline. It will take you a couple minutes, but you might have a chance to stop the ranged attacks.
